Bhopal's youth will sleep peacefully after 30 years, know why

Snoring problem is common. Some member in every family snores while sleeping, but this is not a common problem but a serious disease like sleep apnea and hypnia. In which breathing stops due to interruption of the oxygen supply pipe while sleeping. AIIMS doctors recently performed surgery on one such patient, who was unable to sleep even for two hours for the past 30 years due to snoring. In AIIMS, this operation was done in 15-17 thousand. 4 to 5 lakh rupees would have been spent on getting them out.

AIIMS doctors told that a 38-year-old youth living in Katara Hills of Bhopal had trouble sleeping and snoring since childhood. When the problem was not cured after showing several doctors, the young man showed it to the sleep study lab of AIIMS. After investigation here, it was found that due to birth disorder in the lower jaw of the young man, there is trouble in sleeping. After this, the doctors did surgery on his jaw after examining him.

The windpipe was clogging the jaw

AIIMS Maxillofacial Surgeon Dr. Anshul Rai told that the patient's sleep study was done. In which severe apnea was found. A sleeping device was put on the patient for treatment, but even this did not help the patient. After this, the cephalometric test of the patient was done. In which the lower jaw was found deformed. For this reason it is called Obstructive Hypnea. After surgery, the jaw was moved forward by 1 MM. Due to which the problem of blocking the oxygen pipe while sleeping got relief.

Dr. Anshul Rai told that the lower jaw of the patient was relatively small and shifted backwards. Due to this his air-way i.e. the windpipe was getting clogged. Due to the small mouth of the windpipe, there was difficulty in breathing. After the examination, orthognathic surgery of the lower jaw of the patient was done and fitted in the right place. In medical language, this is called bilateral sagittal split osteotomy of the mandible. When the patient's sleep apnea test was done a few days after the operation, the score was found to be as low as 70 percent.

so the problem was

Dr. Anshul Rai of AIIMS explains that this is the sensation of breathing disorder. This makes it difficult for the patient to sleep and there is a lack of oxygen while sleeping. For this reason, sleep is opened within one to one and a half hours of sleeping. Oxygen supply pipe gets clogged. This patient is being treated at AIIMS for a year. In a study done in the sleep lab, it was found that the patient is in the severe stage of hypnia index. The age of the patient is 38 years. He didn't sleep well for 30-35 years. Tried fixing it with an external tool first, but didn't get any relief.

Bappi Lahiri died due to this disease

Doctors told that famous lyricist and composer Bappi Lahiri also died due to obstructive sleep apnea. He was suffering from this problem for a year, but due to lack of proper treatment on time, he died. Doctors say that the problem of sleeplessness due to snoring should not be ignored.
